This page lists the cattle which CTS records as on your holding. Depending on the selection you made on the previous page, it will show one of the following:
To change the selection, click on the arrow to the right of the ‘Filter by sex/breed’ box at the top of the screen, select the item you want and click the ‘Refresh’ button. To save time in scrolling down the list of breeds, enter the first letter of the breed in the box and you will be taken to the breeds beginning with that letter.
The ‘Filter by eartag’ box can be used if you want to select one or a small group of animals. For example you may want to view animals with a particular herdmark. Enter the herdmark in the box and click the ‘Refresh’ button.
If you enter one or more letters and/or numbers and click the ‘Refresh’ button, you will see a list of all the animals that are within your filtered selection and have this sequence of characters anywhere in their eartag. This could be useful if an eartag has become difficult to read.
For example if you have selected all male animals and then you wish to find animal UK123, once you click the ‘Refresh’ button, CTS Online will return any animal eartag with that number sequence within the male list only.
Once a value has been entered in the ‘Filter by eartag’ box it will remain there until you remove it.
Please note that if you only enter a space in the ‘Filter by eartag’ box and you click the ‘Refresh’ button CTS Online will return any animal eartag with a space anywhere in the eartag number.
You can change the number of items you see on the page by clicking on the arrow to the right of the ‘Number per page’ box at the top of the screen, selecting the item you want and clicking the ‘Refresh’ button. You can choose 20, 50, 100 or All. If you choose a high number you can scroll down the page to see all of the animals.
The animals will normally be listed in ascending order of eartag number (excluding the check digit) but you can change the order by using the ‘Sort by’ box at the top of the screen. Click on the arrow to the right of the box, select the item you want and click the ‘Refresh’ button. You can sort by eartag number, age, breed, sex, genetic dam eartag, or date of moving on to your holding – in each case the order can be either ascending or descending.
For each animal the following details are displayed:
Click on an underlined eartag to see the movement history of that animal. This will take you to another screen. To return to the ‘Cattle on Holding’ list, use the ‘Back’ button at the top of the screen.
You can select animals from the list to carry out certain transactions by clicking in the box to the left of the eartag number. This puts a tick in the box.
To report OFF movements for one or more animals, click in the box to the left of the eartag numbers and, when you have selected all the animals you want, click the ‘Add to OFF movements’ button at the bottom of the page. This will then take you to another screen to complete the transaction.
If you wish to save a copy of the details of one or more animals in a file in your computer, click in the box to the left of the eartag number and then, when you have selected all the animals you want, click the ‘Download details’ button at the bottom of the page. You will be asked if you want to open or save the file. If you open it first, you can save it later.
If you save the file, you will be asked where on your computer you want to save it. Use the ‘Save In’ box at the top of the pop-up screen to select a location. Use the boxes at the bottom of the pop-up screen if you want to change the file name or file type. If you do not change the file type it will be saved as a Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values (csv) file.
